If you want to throw it away, how about selling it and try something else?

Once you loose your confidence in your rifle, it is hard to gain it back.

What do you want for it?:)

OK, so you ask for help with the guns accuracy claiming you' ve tried everything and the gun just doesn' t shoot straight. Shoots so poorly you called Knight and they recommended you ship it back to them so they could test it for you. Yet within a month you sold the gun to what you undoubtedly consider " the next poor sucker" ????

I loathe you. I hope that your problems with the rifle were truly due to your complete ignorance and not a defect in the gun that the pooor purchaser eventually discovers after wasting even more money on ammo, powder, etc noyt to mention time and frustration. Maybe you should take that $250 and invest in something other than hunting equipment nbecause we really don' t need somebody like you giving the rest of us a bad name.

Atlasman had you pegged right.

all right buddy first off i told the guy the complete situation with the gun and told him he could send the gun back to knight which he did and they fixed what ever the problem was and i' m not here to rip someone off and as a matter of fact this guy is in my hunting club and is a real experienced hunter and knew all about the gun so before you go on and call someone ignorant you really need to know the whole story and as far as the rest a bad name you are the guy that gives us a bad name getting on here and taking shots at people who is really just a beginner and makes those people not feel as comfortable about asking the next question they mite have. i have never got on here and bashed anyone for any reason and never will.so please don' t get on here and insult me i' m not mad at you or anyone for doing so its just your opinion so have a good hunting season and kill a big one.

DeerHunter21,

You see the problem is that you say that you' re just this new guy that doesn' t know anything and is just looking for advice but when that advice is offered you ignore it. Several people tried to resolve your accuracy problems by asking you for specifics but you refused to provide them. Without any specifics to go on others advised you to return the gun to Knight for inspection. Again you ignored the advice you solicited and went out and bought a different gun and sold your gun to somebody else rather than take make any real effort to solve the problem.

Regarding the sale I guess we' ll have to take your word for it but I for one would never sell somebody something that I assumed was defective. Thankfully Knight fixed the problem but I wonder if they hadn' t whether you would have cheerfully handed back a handful of cash to the buyer and taken the rifle back or if he would have been stuck with a lemon. I hope not.

Bottom line, never feel uncomfortable about asking questions. This board is full of an incredible wealth of knowledge and I often turn to it as a first resource. But if you ask a question then actually listen to the people who take their valuable time to try and help you out.

I hope you like the CVA but honestly the Knight is a much better rifle, the unfortunate defect yours had notwithstanding. I did notice that you said on your post you had been dealing with the problem for three years before you sold it and it was sent in and repaired. Lets hope CVA will stand behind their product three or four years from now. Sounds like Knight did everything possible to make things right.

well first off it would be hard to sell him a lemon and him get stuck with it because knight said that they would either get it to shoot good or replace the barrel and i would have gave him the money back because thats what kind of guy i am and would never rip someone off as far as the cva shoots great and i hope they would stand behind it they say it has a lifetime warranty so hopfully they will stick to that and everything you said in your reply i have done been told by atlas man and i do have one question what would you have done if you was in my sitiuation and was just fed up with the gun and your good buddy wanted the gun. have a good day.

RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away

Well, since you asked, I would have resolved the problem right away rather than wait three years. After buying the gun I would have taken it out to the range and sighted it in and tested different ammo in it. For instance in the muzzleloader I bought this summer (a Knight Bighorn) I tested three different brands of ammo. Fortunately for me they all three shot to the same point of impact and grouped very well but if they had not I would have tried another half dozen or so. If I still could not get an acceptable grouping I would have contacted Knight and sent the rifle in for repair or replacement immediately. I would fully have expected to have a satisfactory shooting rifle in my hands by the opening of the muzzleloader season.

As another example I did experience some problems with the primers falling out as I carried it still hunting this fall. I contacted Knight and they agreed to upgrade my standard 209 primer system to the new full plastic jacket system for $25. I sent them the old hammer and breech plug on monday and I already received the new parts this morning. Unbelievable service in my opinion. Had I been whining about the primer situation three years from now then sold the rifle in frustration without every trying to resolve the problem with Knight you would probably be asking me why I didn' t take care of it sooner.

In an effort to not beat a dead horse here let' s just say what' s done is done and I do wish you luck with your new CVA. Have you taken it to the range and sighted it in yet and if so how does it group for you?

well i know cva is a cheap gun but believe it or not the gun is shooting very well its a cva mag hunter 45 cal. at 50 yds it shoots a 1 to 1 1/2 inch groups and 100 about 2 inch groups and shot it at 200 yds today and held about a 5 or 6 inch group i' m shooting 100gr of triple 7 loose and 200gr hornady sst so i believe thats pretty good and i can' t complain yet about it and you are right about the 3 year deal should' ve handled it alot sooner but i didn' t and that gun is now shooting great so everyone is happy and thats all that matters and i hope the cva will hold up and i' m glad to hear you got your gun fixed.
