RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
deer hunter 21, I think that was a very nice response to questionable criticism. I never called him stupid...........and I really hope he ends up enjoying his new gun and the Knight as well. I just hate seeing good, smart, giving hunters waste their time trying to help someone that by all signs appears to either not even want help or is just going to talk in circles until he hears the answer he is looking for. Either way, in the end the forum and people REALLY in need of help are the ones who will suffer from it. deerhunter 21, If you really want help.......close your mouth, open your eyes.......read what these good people are asking you and answer them as best you can. They are asking you questions for a reason. If you give them the information they ask for, they will be able to narrow your problem down and give you advice on the best ways to solve it. Good luck to you and I hope you have an enjoyable hunting season. |
RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
if you talked to knight, and they told you to send the gun back, then send it back...problem solved!
atlasman, take it down a couple notches. no need to jump all over this guy. nobody made you " law of the board" |
RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
I would have to agree with atlasmans sentiment. If not his frustration...WAKEUP!!!:D... look at the responses and answer the questions. I would also recommend that you read this http://www.realtree.com/bluelk/index.tpl , ML 101 Chapters from bluelk a Dean and Elderstatesmen of our sport who has passed on. You find it very informative.
I understand we are all learning... but when asking for help it would be nice to have something to work with. I hope the CVA will be servicable for you... but the Knight is a much better ML, and a much better company... if it was me... I would have sent the Knight back first and if I wanted to buy another ML I would have asked, " What do you think of this?" , before I bought instead of after. I hope it all works out for you by the time the season rolls around. Robbie |

david in ok, i have heard alot of people say that the knights don' t like power belts. but now, knight makes their own power belts. i can' t wait to try them out

RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
The Knights I' ve tried do well with 348 or 405 gr. Powerbelts in .50 cal, but not with the lighter 245 / 295 bullets. A huge difference.

RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
Knights do have a problem with regular powerbelts. The new Knight powerbelts should be great. They are made to fit the slightly oversized Knight barrels. Just found that out myself. Wondered what the problem was.

Deer hunter21, Save yourself time and trouble. You are convinced your Knight has a problem. You already contacted Knight and was asked to send them the rifle.Pay the shipping to them and have it taken care of. Knight has a Lifetime Warranty. I have had dealings with Knight a couple times and they solve my small problem in a timely manor. Once I took my Disc' s bolt apart which I' ve done many times in the past. I could' nt get it right for whatever reason.I sent it to Knight and in no time I had it back. They explained where I went wrong. Once I broke the jag in my ramrod. Not only did they replace the Cleaning Jag but the entire ramrod. Knight is a excellent company and they stand behind their products.Mine is a Pre 98 model with the shorter 22" bbl.I really haven' t shot it allot but ,the times I have I' ve been impressed with the accuracy.
There was one little buck that wishes it didn' t shoot that well. Then again he never knew what hit him. Ruger Redhawk |
RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
I use a disc with a long barrel with 3 50 grain pyro pellets and Hornady' s .45 300 xtp. It puts 5 shots in a 3 in. circle at 200 yds.
I ran into a similar problem with a regular rifle and discovered I had a bad set of rings. You might wish to try a different set of rings. I would also suggest you use blue Locktite on all the screws for mounts and rings if you don' t already. Also, if you' re bench resting it to sight it in, you might try holding onto the forearm of the stock rather than just have it sitting on a bag. I' ve found that the slower velocities of slug and bp usually do better that way. Are you starting at the closer distances, 25-30 yds, to see if you have the same problem? |
RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
The 348 and 405 grain Powerbelts have shot very well in the Knights I' ve tested-- the 245, 295, and Knight 260 gr. Powerbelts have not.
