RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
I think Knight will make it good if something is wrong with it,my brother sent a disc back a couple months ago, telling them what was wrong with it (wouldn' t shoot groups) and they rebarreled it and sent it back.I don' t know if he has tried it or not yet.

Hey - Deer Hunter 21,
1. Your asking for opinions/advice but giving us very little detail. 2. I might suggest you bond with an experienced Muzzle Loader and get some old fashioned " in the field" tips. 3. Your knight should serve you very well, unless the gun is flat out Defective. Call Knight. I own a Knight .45 and s/w Knight on 2 occasions to get advice. I' ve owned, shot and taken numerous Deer with this gun - No Complaints. 4. Call Knight or give us some detail on powder, charge, bullet, exactly how you load etc. If this doesn' t work refer to #3. Good Luck - AL |
RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
Funny I should read this post today. I have a .50 cal knight disc also and I shot it yesterday at 100 yds. I' m shooting (2) 50 gr. Pyrodex pellets w/ 265 Swift A-Frame sabots. My average groups yesterday were between 1 1/2 - 2" . Not bad since I' ve only been shooting it for 2 years now. I mounted a Leupold VX II 2-7x33 on it and neither the muzzleloader or the scope has ever failed me.

RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
well i have shot pyrodex cleanshot triple 7 and i have not tried the pyrodex pellets and far as how much from 80 up to 150 grains with no luck and i have shot all the knight bullets hornady and just about every other sabot known to man except the power belts so maybe i should hold off on sending it to knight and try the pellets and powerbelts and another thing that knight told me was that the worst thing to do is clean it every shot he said just spit on a patch and run in and out of the barrel a few times and shoot again so maybe i' ll try this out and one more thing i have bought a new muzzle loader cva just for 149.99 45 cal. but i want to keep my knight and i was wondering if a tasco world class would hold up to this gun because i took my nikon off and put it on the cva i appreciate all the help and keep sending the comments.

RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
All these people bending over backwards trying to help you out and after saying over and over that you have shot EVERYTHING known to man......you now say that you have NEVER shot Pyrodex pellets or Powerbelts??
You have tried " EVERYTHING known to man" ........yet you don' t even know what a spit patch is?? You are a real piece of work. I know you are probably very upset with your gun but c' mon man........guys like you are the hardest to help because your mind is already made up that your situation is beyond help.........YET YOU STILL ASK FOR IT. If you had answered everyone' s repeated requests for more info instead of stomping your feet and holding your breath........your problem might be solved by now. So now you have bought a new gun......which anyone with a brain reading this could tell you were gonna do right from the start. Sell the Knight to someone with enough patience and common sense to use it and let them enjoy it for many years to come. I hate seeing people waste the time of the knowledgable people on these forums who are kind enough to respond with helpful advice.................sooner or later they will get tired of wasting their time on ingrates and then we all will suffer for it. RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
I wonder if you' re scope is mounted properly. All it takes is one loose screw and it will never shoot consistently. I would look into this before I change powder, bullets, etc. You' re BP gun should be able to shoot many more than one type of bullet/powder combo decently, and if its not, i would say the scope itself is hosed up or it wasnt mounted properly. Start w/ the simple things and then work on the harder things. Like they say KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) :)

RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away
deer hunter 21, I think that was a very nice response to questionable criticism. We are ALL learning. And not every rifle is a good shooter.
Beyond a very good cleaning, de-leading, de-plasticing, and making sure all screws are snugged, you might want to check how the barrel fits in the stock. Perhaps the barrel is riding hard to one side? Try to even that fit up as much as possible. I would also recommend you stay at 110 grains of Pyro or less, and no more than 100 grains of T7 in any form. PowerBelts are generally undersized for Knights (except those they are now selling). The new Hornady SSTs in 250 or 300 grains are reportedly doing well is some Knights, as are some of PR Bullet' s Dead Centers. I would try those on about 100 grains of Pyrodex RS with a damp/dry swab between each shot. |
