Also is there another bullet I should try? These are kind of high so I am just wondering if there is a better alternative for a lower cost or about the same

A bullet you could try is the 300g XTP in either 44 caliber, or 45 caliber, in the appropriate sabot. Another bullet that works best for me is either the 270g Deep Curl, or the 300g Deep Curl. Some of my rifles don't seem to shoot 44 caliber bullets well, however the others do, and for some reason 44 caliber bullets cost a little less. Chances are, you will have to try whatever is available to you.

You can shoot either one but you must have the correct sabot for the bullet you are shooting. You can get sabots for .40, .44,.451 and .452, and .458

I don't understand what you mean wouldn't the bullet be loose in the barrel?

A sabot is a plastic sock if you want to think of it that way. In the center of the plastic sock a certain size bullet fits, depending on what size sabot you purchase. Green sabots are generally .44 caliber bullets or .430 diameter. Black sabots are .45 caliber bullets or generally .452 diameter INSIDE. And so fourth. The outside diameter of the same is .502 and will snugly slide down the barrel of your 50 caliber and stay right there.

Don't be sorry about asking questions. There are a lot of things to absorb.
