This is one of many testimonials

Lee, Wow!!! Is all I can say. Once again you have outdone yourself. Thanks again for a great product. Oh and a little testimony here. I was hunting the other day with one of the tefloned guns, and was on a extremely steep mountainside. It was shale covered and the shale was in small chunks and very loose. I lost my footing and fell 25 feet down the side of the Mountain, with the barrel of the Gun dragging through the shale the whole way. I had no way to not do that. I didn't want to look, as I knew the Gun was destroyed. I dumped the loose shale from inside the barrel, and looked the Gun over. NOT A SCRATCH!!!!!!!! I was completely amazed.

Oh I forgot it's a $145.00 for a muzzleloader .mine are all black but they offer brown, tan and green . Not sure what other colors if any are available . Read up on this Teflon coating. This would be the way to go

Something to consider if what I have chips off.

I have mixed feelings about coatings on barrels.
I only have one with the coating and that is my .504 White Bison. It was coated with black ice when I bought it. I like it but I cannot see myself ever coating one of my Stainless rifles or even my blued ones unless the bluing really got to the point where it was looking bad.
I don't think the black ice coating would ever chip off but I have seen where it has worn off over time, like in the breech area where you do a lot of scrubbing.
I like the non glare finish of the black ice and it does seem like the fouling wipes off of it really easy.

I agree, I was just thinking that if a person has a MR and wants to keep it even though it chipping, then this would be a better solution. I personally wouldnt keep the MR if it was doing what rafsob's is doing, But some seem to like it and at least this would be a better answer. Albeit a little expensive but a better choice . I'm pretty sure they have a tan color that would match nicely.

They offer a two tone camo pattern too. :D

Even though I never got the chance to take it out in the elements I actually liked whatever they put on the Mountaineer. DynaTek? I didn't really know there was anything on it at first but after handling it there was no finger print marks or anything I thought that was nice. Again I never took it out but if it held up well I would rather have that stuff then any thing else really.

That would be cool , now maybe an ultra light with 2 tone camo would be the ultimate muzzleloader .

Ive thought about getting my Ultra Light Arms 50cal done in Black Ice two tone but the tolerances are so tight, im not sure if i want to chance it. :D The matte blue finish Melvin uses is still holding up very nicely. :p
