A quality coating
Check out this coating . I have some Whites done with this coating and I would consider it top quality , maybe if a person likes their MR so much they can get it black iced . Look up
http://www.blackicecoatings.com This is one of many testimonials Bob Bowers - Roanoke, VA Lee, Wow!!! Is all I can say. Once again you have outdone yourself. Thanks again for a great product. Oh and a little testimony here. I was hunting the other day with one of the tefloned guns, and was on a extremely steep mountainside. It was shale covered and the shale was in small chunks and very loose. I lost my footing and fell 25 feet down the side of the Mountain, with the barrel of the Gun dragging through the shale the whole way. I had no way to not do that. I didn't want to look, as I knew the Gun was destroyed. I dumped the loose shale from inside the barrel, and looked the Gun over. NOT A SCRATCH!!!!!!!! I was completely amazed. |
Oh I forgot it's a $145.00 for a muzzleloader .mine are all black but they offer brown, tan and green . Not sure what other colors if any are available . Read up on this Teflon coating. This would be the way to go

Something to consider if what I have chips off.

I have mixed feelings about coatings on barrels.
I only have one with the coating and that is my .504 White Bison. It was coated with black ice when I bought it. I like it but I cannot see myself ever coating one of my Stainless rifles or even my blued ones unless the bluing really got to the point where it was looking bad. I don't think the black ice coating would ever chip off but I have seen where it has worn off over time, like in the breech area where you do a lot of scrubbing. I like the non glare finish of the black ice and it does seem like the fouling wipes off of it really easy. |

They offer a two tone camo pattern too. :D

Even though I never got the chance to take it out in the elements I actually liked whatever they put on the Mountaineer. DynaTek? I didn't really know there was anything on it at first but after handling it there was no finger print marks or anything I thought that was nice. Again I never took it out but if it held up well I would rather have that stuff then any thing else really.

Ive thought about getting my Ultra Light Arms 50cal done in Black Ice two tone but the tolerances are so tight, im not sure if i want to chance it. :D The matte blue finish Melvin uses is still holding up very nicely. :p
