Tc Impact Range report.
I now have over 100 shots fired from the impact using Pyrodex and triple 7. Rifle is sighted dead on at 100 yards with a TC cheapo scope.5 trips to the range keeping track of the first clean barrel shots wiped with two clean patches and loaded with triple 7 xtp hp 250 gr bullets in mmp 3p-ez sabots and 209 FUSION PRIMERS. The cold barrel impact groups around one inch. The action is as tight as the day bought and the rifle function very smooth.Shooting a lot of pyrodex because i have 3 lbs. The pyrodex shoots one inch lower than the tripple 7 with the same hold at 100 yards. Clean between shots with deicing windshield washer fluid soaked patch then a clean patch. sripple7 is cleaner shooting than the pyrodex. The Impact is a great rifle at any price. I'm saving my black power for my vintage rifles. lol

Excellent range report!! I have looked at that rifle. And it did interest me. Not only because of the price, but the quality of the rifle looked very good.

How is the rifle grouping? Target pics? Thanks for the report.

Hey wolf, where can I get some of that sripple7 powder??? Just kiddin. Sometimes our fingers get on the wrong keys when we're typing. Have you tried bumping up the pyrodex charge by 10 gr to see if that impacts the same as the T7?
Otherwise nice report. It would be nice to see some targets with the results you're getting. |
The sripple7 powder is very special only grows in Western Pa. lol.. I have been using 100 gr by vol of both. My powder for hunting will be Triple 7. Groups of around one and a quarter inch are common with both powder .I have one target thats just used for cold barrel shots with 5 holes in it about 1 1/4 inch spread. I have varied the powder charge up and down 10 gr but see little diff. I have no pics so you will need to take my word...lol I fish also.

i own 2 t/c impacts & 1 has a 1x4 leupold & using 90 grains of blackhorn 209 & t/c 300grain bullet (.452 ) & this gun is a tack driver
sighted this one in @75 yrds or more more thick brush & my other impact has the cheapy t/c 3x9 scope & using 100 grains of bh209 & hornady 350 fpb's & this one is also a tack driver sighted for 150 yrds mainly for use in corn/ bean fields. can't complain about either 1 just bought the 2nd one @ dicks for $219 & the one with the leupold got it for a steal @ the end of last season for $300. i also own a t/c bone collector which i now use for strictly open land up to 250 yrds. i believe i will be using more of the impacts this hunting season here in n.e. ohio. i believe t/c has outdone themselves on the impact. & good luck this hunting season. i'm looking forward to our early muzzy season in a few weeks here in ohio @ 2 state parks. runs oct 15 thru 20. let you know how i do. |
