Does anyone make them for the non-QRBP for the older models. I haven't had any problems shooting BH in my Optima Elite but if the option is there I would probably get one.

Interesting. I didn't know there was a different BP made especially for BH209 powder? I did have some problems with another gun and the guys at BH told me to use a stronger/hotter 209 primer.
Who is selling these breech plugs? You can buy directly for Western, or buy from Carlos for a better deal. |

Ron can probably modify your BP to work better. |

One way to come up with a breech plug 100% reliable igniting Blackhorn powder is shown in the following link.

You are correct, i will do the modification, but i do the work for a large fee for the amount of work involved. It has long been my recommendation one do that work themselves.

Antelope season starts Saturday, and lasts 2 week.
Muzzle loader deer season starts in 3 week, and lasts 1 week Deer season starts in a 5 week and lasts a month. Muzzle loader deer season restarts in 2 month, and lasts 6 week. Deer season reopens the day after Christmas, and last a week. Turkey starts in a week, and lasts 4 month. No, i will not advertise to do work that could interfere with my freedom to hunt. The actual work takes about 15 minute, i am plenty willing to do the modification, and there will be plenty of time for me to do the work during any hunting season, but i cannot bring myself to advertise, and that's how it is. |

I recommend the Western Powder version. It cost a little more than the CVA version, but it comes with the proper size drill and holder to clean out the flash channel.
You can buy directly for Western, or buy from Carlos for a better deal. I don't have any problems shooting the BH209 now with the CVA factory BP in the MR. |
Takes the same plug.
