I buy a resident sportsman license for $25. This includes 6 deer tags and 2 turkey tags. Only two bucks can be taken in Arkansas. Duck stamps are extra, since I dont duck hunt that saves me money. You can buy a small game license and one deer tag for $10.50.

We also can purchase individual parts or the whole thing as a package deal. When I was younger I used to get the Conservation Patron license. Then you have some stamps you have to purchase on top of that like the Great Lakes Stamps, Trout Stamps, etc.

This entire license thing is getting out of hand. When you figure the cost of the license, and in some cases, those that pay to have meat processed, plus the chance you might get skunked.. that is some expensive venison. Of course we do this for the sport and not the meat.

Now land owners like myself can hunt squirrels and rabbits (last I checked) on our own property, without a license. We used to be able to hunt grouse, but they changed that.
Yea hunting can get expensive! I have a buddy who's wife also hunts, between them they usually take say 6 deer a year. Now my buddy does'nt process his own deer he takes them 50 miles away to a place who does a great job and they make everything under the sun with the meat. On average he spends about $120 a deer to have them processed. He gets breakfast sausage, Italon, hot dogs, slim jims, ect....so for them 6 deer he'll spend $720.00 just in processing fees not including the gas money back and forth for the 50 mile drive, that's another $20 a drive. Just think of all the Portorhouse and Delmonaco steaks you could buy with that. But he loves his venison like we all do.
I try and do most of my own deer processing, I do take a deer to the same place he takes his but the only bummer with this is it's SNOWS a-lot there, it's up in Hill Country. They could have 5-6 feet of snow up there and the drive there gets trecherous at times, I've even ran into a few blizzards on the way there.
We get a-lot of snow where I live too but up there it's unreal, I've seen houses that you could'nt even tell they were houses, there driveways had 12ft banks of snow on the sides of them and they have to bring in special snow cutting machines for the roads. When your on the road all you see is a giant wall of snow on each side of the road when your driving.
The winter befor last they had so much snow there they could'nt even hunt that season, the snow was over 5ft deep and deeper.
We also hunt a trac of land my buddy owns only 12 miles from our homes, it's also in Ski Country, there's been many a time when on Opening Day we all drive there only to get back in our trucks and drive back home to hunt the lower elevation because the snows too deep. Our season ended befor it even started there. Im 6'6" and when I try and walk through the snow and it's above my waist, it's usless to even try to hunt.

This year I'll be hunting just VA and TN.

VA - Out of State for me but I do have a lifetime license.
$121 gets me 2 bucks and 3 does, bear, turkey and small game.

TN - In State
$84 gets me 3 bucks and more does than I want. Turkey, Bear and small game. (this also includes bow)

I process all my own meat, so the only other expense I have is gas.

I hunt on our family's land, so in Ohio that means we don't have to buy a hunting license or any tags. So it costs me $0 . We're allowed 1 buck and up to 5 does a year. 2 turkeys in spring season and 1 in the fall season if I'm not mistaken.

We pay a small fortune in Ontario, Canada. If you hunt deer, moose and bear you're looking at $ 142.39 plus a small game licence and a fishing licence, plus a fee for having the "privelage" to carry firearms(just starting I think it is $80.00), plus a duck stamp if you hunt waterfowl, plus a licence card fee.

Moose and deer are draws. You are entitled to a calf moose or a buck deer. You enter draws for bulls, cows and does. Surplus deer tags are the same price as regular deer tags. Some areas have surplus bear tags and they are the same price as well.

1. Moose
a) Resident’s licence tag to hunt moose.............................$52.31
b) Non-resident’s licence tag to hunt moose.................$449.58
c) Dog licence........................................... .......................... $12.67
For information on Export Permits, see page 14.
2. Elk
a) Resident’s application to enter elk hunt draw
(per person)........................................... ........................ $16.95
NOTE: Enter the elk hunt draw online at
ontario.ca/outdoorscard, by automated telephone system or at select ServiceOntario centres, either as an individual or with a group of up to 3 other people.
b) Resident’s elk licence tag (per person)......................... $50.00
Only those notified as successful in the elk hunt draw are eligible to purchase an elk licence.

3. Deer
a) Resident’s licence tag to hunt deer................................ $45.04
b) Farmer’s licence tag to hunt deer.................................. $26.15
You must complete an "Application for a Farmer’s Licence to Hunt Deer" form (available from licence issuers and select ServiceOntario centres) to get this licence tag. This licence tag is valid only in the county (or other jurisdiction as the case may be) in which you reside.
c) Resident’s additional game seal to hunt deer
(select WMUs only)............................................. .......... $45.04
d) Non-resident’s licence tag to hunt deer
(antlered deer only)............................................. .......$224.66
e) Non-resident’s additional game seal to hunt deer (May be valid for antlered deer only, antlerless deer only OR both antlered and antlerless deer; selected WMUs only)............................................. ..........................$224.66
f) Dog licence........................................... .... $12.67

4. Black Bear
a) Resident’s licence tag to hunt black bear...................... $45.04
b) Resident’s second game seal to hunt black bear
(selected WMUs only)............................................. ...... $45.04
c) Non-resident’s licence tag to hunt black bear............$224.66
Non-residents must have a Non-resident Black Bear Hunting Licence Validation Certificate as well as a black bear hunting licence. They must also complete the questionnaire that comes with the Certificate and return it to the issuer of the Certificate by November 30 of the year of the hunt.
d) Dog licence .................................................. .................
.$12.67
e) Licence to provide black bear hunting services.. $35.00

5. Small Game
a) Resident’s licence tag to hunt small game............... $23.46

b) Resident’s raccoon licence to hunt raccoon at night .................................................. ...$21.84

c) Resident’s dog (raccoon) licence............................ $12.67
d) Non-resident’s licence tag to hunt small game....$112.46
This licence tag authorizes a non-resident to hunt fox, game birds (except wild turkey), rabbits and hares in most areas, raccoon (though not at night), wolf*, coyote* and black, gray and fox squirrels but not red squirrels. The non-resident’s small game licence tag also authorizes the holder to hunt game birds on game bird hunting preserves. This licence tag does not authorize the holder to hunt American crow, brown-headed cowbird, common grackle, house sparrow, red-winged blackbird or starlings** or any species of unscheduled wildlife. However, you can hunt wild turkey if you possess a wild turkey licence in addition to a non-resident’s small game licence tag. This licence tag is not valid in northern Ontario and part of central Ontario from June 16 to August 31 except for hunting by falconry and hunting
game birds on a game bird hunting preserve (see Map 2, pages 8 to 9, for more details).
A non-resident small game licence tag does not allow you to hunt rabbits in the county of Lambton, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent or the county of Essex, except in the Township of Pelee.
* When accompanied by a wolf/coyote game seal in specific WMUs
(see Section 6).
** Not all wildlife species can be hunted; consult the
Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and Endangered Species Act at ontario.ca/e-laws.
e) Non-resident’s licence to hunt game birds on
a game bird hunting preserve.................................. $15.88
To hunt game birds including wild turkeys on a game
bird hunting preserve
only, a non-resident may wish to purchase this licence rather than a non-resident’s small game licence tag.

6. Wolf/Coyote
NOTE: Wolf/coyote game seals are required to hunt wolves/coyotes in WMUs 1A, 1C, 1D, 2-42, 46-50 and 53-58.

Almost....it starts with a "P" it's actually Panama NY and the place is called Steven's Brothers. It's in Amish Country and for the life of me I still dont know how them horses get around in all that snow.
The owner also takes care of Animals, he's a Vet and a Darn Good one and very very reasonable on his prices. Besides being a Vet and processing Deer, they process Cattle and Pigs and you can get some of the best Bacon, Steaks, Prime Rib ect. So when I go and pick up my deer I also grab a few non Venison items
Good to see you were one of the smart one's to get your Lifetime License. Just befor the License fee increase there was a ton of people in line buying there lifetime's. I cant remember exactly what they were selling for but if I can remember right they were around $900. I know I saw more $100 bills going over the counter than I could count, people were in line with hundreds in hand. But I just could'nt shell out the $1800.00+- for the wife and I so I just keep buying them every mid August and hope I can be there again next august to buy 2 more
