Draw results
Happy campers. Both the wife and I drew Antelope buck and doe tags each for rifle season.
I guess the knight Disc will get it's chance now for sure. And hopefully we can get some pronghorn meat in the freezer. :happy0001: Of course that's not til October but waiting will be easy since archery antelope starts this Saturday. I am more than ready . |
That's great Chet! Myself, i am disappointed to only draw a doe tag. Was looking forward to a 'sneak' on a nice buck, but alas will do no buck hunting this year. The area is a long drive too, Southwest corner of SD.
Good luck with the bow! Long ago, i knew a fella that used his domestic goats for antelope decoy. He painted them. It doesn't seem there will be a clarification of projectiles allowed during muzzle loader season. Right now, if i understand correctly, one can use 40 caliber bullet during rifle season, but during muzzle loader season the minimum caliber bullet seems to be 44. It doesn't seem this issue was discussed at the commission meetings. |
It does seem that way on the regs. Not a problem I guess. I will use my 45 during rifle season and a 50 or bigger for muzzy season. You hunting the refuge again aren't you?

23 days to go. Not that i'm counting days.
Ok, i'm counting days. |
Chet, i put in for refuge doe tag first choice. This should see me drawing them tag, but one never know. Hopefully i will see you there. My rifle is/was ready. Back-up rifle is ready now, after today shoot. Let me know if i can bring you something from town.
For antelope i plan to carry the 45 caliber Omega shooting 200g sst. On the refuge i plan to carry X7 loaded with 270g Deep Curl, however the Clearance Omega loaded with 300g Deep Curl is really really shooting good. |
