A couple rifles in the paint shop

My brother in laws Wolf, Not finished yet, forearm has to be painted and then cleared with satin. Love the green, it came out purdy.

Next up, CVA Apollo 50cal. Not sure what pattern I will attempt to go with yet but I will figure something out.

Spraying a base coat for the paint to stick to.

I kind of like the base color. And it would make a good hunting color.

yeah the Apollo will mostly be the whitish/gray color. A lot of sand stone in my part of the country, along with cedar so some green pattern will be thrown into the mix.

stencile i printed and then cut out last night.

Moving the stencile outward a bit i then faded the edges out.

The rear part of the stock i feel looks to globby so i am going to spray it tan again and redo the green pattern.

MountainDevil54 07-31-2012 11:49 AM

Using grass i tore out by the root i was able to break up the pattern really darn good to where it almost looks like a natural camo. Poor pics!

So much for my original idea of having more tan in it that green!

Nice job MountainDevil.

I love this part where it looks like sun light on the bottom and part of the side of the forearm. When you put it in the trees it actually looks like a branch with the sun light showing through.

What do you think? Add some very thin strips of tan color to blend in a little better? Right now its perfect for brush or hunting the green timber.

I say good job. But you'll have to figure out the main colors where you hunt when you're hunting. If it's still pretty green then leave it. If it's pretty dry I would add more tans and grays.
