Palmetto inline rifle

I have been offered a .50 Palmetto inline muzzleloader for a good price but cant find anything on the web about the brand?
Is there anybody with some experience on these rifles?

Better be real cheap. This guy in the 2nd post was offered 5 of them for $200 7 years ago. I'm not sure they're still being made.

They were made by an Italian co and to be blunt were considered the worst junk ever put out . They made Sharps, hawkins, etc.in the 80's .I doubt they are still being made.
Invest arms, Uberti, armi sport and pedersoli seem to have dominated Italian guns, with pedersoli the best and Invest arms right after them.

Thanks for the advice, think I'll skip this deal

Good move.

Just spoke to the seller quickly on the phone, a lot of accessories(lead conicals, sabots) and Leopold scope with mounts are with the sale incl. I estimate the accessories is worth more than the selling price, so I bought the whole package.
According to the seller he shot quite a few warthog with it, just hope he spoke the truth. At least I got it cheaply...

I think you made a good move. Of course you know by now I couldn't have passed up on an inexpensive deal. More than likely you will have fun with it and to me that's the point. Good luck. Post a picture of it, I have never seen one. And I'm sure we are all looking forward to a range report. Of all the reports I have read on muzzleloaders I have only seen one that was bad as far as the rifles accuracy went. And I still find that one hard to believe. I think they all shoot with acceptable hunting accuracy if they are taken care of.

Thanks Pluckit, I will post pics as soon as the rifle is in my grubby hands. The couriers will pick it up on Monday since the seller is about 600km from me.

This is the only pic I have of the rifle so far, sent via cellphone from the seller.

It doesn't look that bad. If it shoots ok you did ok with all the extras you got with it.

Not sure what you'd do if you need parts for it, but that might never happen.
