There you go. Shoot him with the bow then finish him off with the revolver... :)

But it got me a little better at pulling and releasing...a little better at least. Made my Indian heritage try to come through! He's a big guy, and I'm not. The draw length was a bit much.

Draw length on a recurve? Isnt that sort of variable / one size fits all?

He had told me something about how you pull to the corner of your lip, and that bow string could be pulled much further (he's 6'4" and I'm 5'8"). So maybe I just couldn't attain the # of pull weight. I'm not sure now???

rodwha,
The recurve and long bow draw weights are based on a 28 inch draw length. The shorter the draw the less weight and the further you draw the more weight it will be. Personally, I hunt with a Martin X-200 #45@28". That being said I have taken hogs in Mason county, TX up to 250 lbs. and several whitetailed deer, and 7 black bear with my traditional archery. However, I havent read all of this thread, but I would be concern with possibly exceeding the max cup pressure on the ROA. Just my two cents worth. I wish you luck.

Does that mean the limbs of a recurve or even a long bow are a set length? As are the strings?
