Hard To Resist

I don't understand why I find a cheap (inexpensive) muzzleloader so hard to resist. I stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods last week to try and find a scope base for a muzzleloader and saw a Traditions Buckstalker with a blued barrel and a green synthetic stock on the gun rack for $149.00. It was an earlier model that needed a wrench for the breech plug but who cares. So I just went to Traditions web site and checked their specials page because I needed my memory jarred to remember the name of the rifle, all I could remember was Buck?, and saw this

Heck, I can't seem to get the one at Dick's out of my mind and now this! Worst of all is the last thing I need is another muzzleloader!

I know what you mean. I see a gun and then fret over it until I finally purchase it. So you might as well go buy the darn thing and then sleep good tonight.

Agreed.... I used to have a problem getting them past the wife.... Now I just act like I'm headed to the range with a few guns... Stop & purchase/pick up the new one.... Walk right on thru the house a few hours later with the original few + 1 and she doesn't even know what happened! :D It might just be that after 28 years together she understands that it's a losing battle.

Pluckit....Now go get that gun before you regret it!

Today, i went to the local owned gun shop to get some 45 caliber bullet to test shoot with the 44 caliber bullet i already have. Didn't really find what i wanted, but did purchase some to shoot. Whilst there, i spotted a Knight Disc Extreme with a beautiful laminated thumb hole stock for $350. It looks new!!

I've said it before Fellas, " beware of what you look for ".

I can't help snooping around gun shows and shops but when I find a deal, I have a problem on my hands.

I keep telling myself they are an investment. I can always get my money back.

Ron, did you look to see which cal it might be?

It is a 50. If i recall correctly next to it sat a 52 extreme, with a black thumbhole stock. There were some of them plunger guns there too, so i may be confused. Prices were seemingly fair. I can check more better, if necessary. What i wondered about is the lug on the rifle that caught my eye. It has a fluted stainless barrel, and seems like it had a kinda low serial #.

Thanks Ron, the 50 with laminate, fluted is probably a Master Hunter or a Master Hunter Cryogenic - it will be a regular Extreme lug. There is a very slight possibility it could be a Long Range Hunter in an Extreme stoch which would give it the forked recoil lug.

Here's a link to Traditions Muzzleloaders and that .50 caliber Buckstalker with the green synthetic stock like the one I saw at Dick's Sporting goods last week for $149+.00. This one is on special for $139.00 and shipping will cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of $15.00.
