Personal Peculiarities

I just got finished posting a lot of stuff in the Black Powder Reference Forum and realized how many of them involve "make do" applications of non-gun products.

It seems I can't walk through a store of any sort without noticing some itlem or other and thinking, "Man, I could use that for ........).

Are any of you guys that way?

Bottles with easy open tops make nice roundball ball holders. The color of the caps denote the caliber. Old candy tins made of metal make nice lube holders. It seems I look at everything I SHOULD throw away, and then think of some other use for it. I am the worlds biggest pack rat.

I know exactly what you're talking about Semisane. I am terrible for that.

Definately I am like that. Yes, candy and Sucret tins are great lube (and lubed maxiball) holders. Those tiny flossing brushes are great for cleaning out the touch hole on a flinter. Pipe cleaner are always used as are toothbrushes for gun cleaning. A shaving brush is great for brushing off scope lens and other delecate areas. White fingernail polish is good for brightening front sights. Flannel in bulk sheets is cut into patches for swabbing.
Probably a lot of other things too that I haven't thought of yet.
I hope others chime in to see what else we can use.

I like the idea of the water bottles for the round balls though.

I grab the empty powder flavoring bottles off the coffee bar and use them for roundballs. could never get the little marshmallows bottles. someone gets those before I can get them.

so I really know the feeling about that

What's your powder bottles doing on the coffee bar? Are you making some funny drinks Corey?

You sure you're not making funny drinks?
