Couple falls in love after months apart
 

Chet and I did some trading again recently and I got my old CVA Optima back today and sighted her in at 50 yards and then took it to 100 yards.

100 yard 5 shot target with 100gr blackhorn209, cci 209 m primers, 250gr powerbelt aerolites. :arms: I love her!

Gad to see she arrived safe and sound and in one piece.
Looks like it was easy to get her shooting the way she did before.
You gotta let her hunt this year now for sure.

That is some sweet shooting there. Very hard to argue with accuracy results like that. Nice shooting and a nice looking rifle.

went out late this evening with the Optima and the same powerbelt load. Yesterday I removed the scope cap screws and added a touch of blue loctite just to make sure and so thats the main reason I took her out today to 100 yards.

Top left 3 shots are my first groupers, the next line down you will see single shots in the bulls eye with the 250gr Thors and 100gr BH209. I already know how they group so I just wanted to have some fun and shoot out the bulls eyes. The bulls eyes are 1/2" diameter. Super thin cross hairs in that 10x Konus scope really helps pin point on the shot on tiny targets.

The next upper 3 shots to the middle/right you see as well were the 250gr Powerbelt Aerolites again, That was just under 1" but close enough to just round it off to an even 1 LOL.

4th of July shooting. Just to sore to do any more shooting today. Shoulder has knotted up badly the past 3 days.

110gr BH209 - 250gr Thor conicals @ 100 yards.

The first 3 shots in a string are with a 3 minute cool down, the next 3 shots lower to the lright were with a 5 minute cool down. I believe this will be my hunting load for this Optima!


My finger blocks an old hole on the target. It rained last night and messed up the target I had set up a few days ago when I was shooting Aerolites/Thors earlier so, Sorry for the messy target.

Also, it STILL amazes me how much 10 grains of powder will change POI! I was aiming at the target below where the bullets impacted!
