Playing with electricity.

I thought I would take the CVA Electra to the range today and see if it wanted to shoot.
25 yards to see if it was still on paper. 80 grains Pyrodex RS. 240 grain XTP T/C mag exp. sabot.

Shots 1-3 same load, unmarked shots with 90 grains Pyrodex RS, same bullet. 100 yards. The 3 unmarked shots were with 90 grains Pyrodex RS.

All shots same as the last 3.

Same as the last.

Considering I was being hit with shell casings all morning and someone was shooting at my targets I had a pretty good time. Those targets stank anyway so I threw them away. I love to shoot but I HATE going to that range!

If your getting hit by shell casings you should ask the range master to move you or have the guy next to you moved or a barrier put up. There is no excuse for him interferring with your shooting.Especially if you pay to shoot there. As for the electra, that second target (both groups) look very good.

The state runs this range and it is self supervised, no range master. For some reason everyone thinks it doesn't matter where their shell casings are going. After having one land on my shooting table I threw it onto his and said "I thought you might like that back!" Before that they were hitting me so I brought it to his attention and he says "Oh." The range has 75% young punks and genuine inconsiderate idiots that go there. The bitch is I have no other option, so it's go there or quit shooting.

Just that kind of distraction can set you way off.

That 90 grain load looks pretty good.

No reason for that. I would have asked him to switch tables, and if he didn't want to do that. I'd shove his brass up his nose.

I shot at an start ran range too. it is the one thing I hate, been lucky once some of the guys that are shooting ak or ars notice someone is getting hit. they try there best not to have the brass hit ya. I set where there is a pole to help protect me.

when I owned a sks, I put a shell deflector on it to help with the spray.

on my mossberg, I made a shell deflector to kick the brass down to my scrap brass bin, just down to the table or the ground.

good shooting there

Well next time, if you're there first, try to get a table to the far left. Then casings won't hit you. If you can't do that and someone comes to your left with a semi auto, ask if he wouldn't mind moving to a table to your right or switching tables with you or at least put up a deflector.
If he doesn't do either of these then he/she is a complete A$$hole and I would not just toss the brass back on his table but I would throw it directly at him. If he says anything tell him next time you will heat it up with your lighter and have it hit him when it was hot like it hit you. Then maybe he will get the hint.
Some people are just jerks and need to be treated as such.

Good plan. But make sure you gun is loaded before you implement it. :s2:

P.S.

I think my scope was loose. I forget everything, which in some cases is good but in most cases is bad. I remember when I got home and cleaned the rifle I bumped the scope, lightly, and felt something move. I grabbed the scope and could wiggle it ever so slightly. The front screw on the scope was a little loose. When I was shooting I couldn't understand the loose groups then 2 tight shots and then a flier. I hope the loose scope was the problem. I guess I'll find out the next time I take it to the range. If I remember to tighten it. Oh shoot, I better go do it now before I forget.
