simple homemade cheek rest
 

it is on an off topic gun but can see it added to a homemade leather cheek rest or other cheek rest idea. this one is just being glued on and being held until the e6000 glue dries.

rubber bumper pads

That'll work. You could probably even use it for a temporary/removable pad by securing it to the stock with a couple of heavy rubber bands.

had time before the glue cured. i used velcro. pains to admit that it was MD's idea

I can cut out 8 of a pack of 4. cost me $10. already had the velcro. got those for another project that I went another direction on.
