Cabela's Sporterized Hawken Hunter .54 Carbine Clearance

I stopped in at the local Cabela's Bargain Cave on Friday and they had at least 3 of their Cabela's Sporterized Hawken Hunter .54 Carbines on clearance that are brand new in the box. They just came in from the warehouse and are being sold for $399.99 plus tax, and AFAIK they aren't defective at all. But it seems that they're being sold as is in the Bargain Cave just to get rid of them. Meanwhile the Cabela's website doesn't show any .54's, but only shows that the .50's are back orderable. So maybe the .54's are being discontinued. Their regular price is $599.99 which is a pretty steep price to begin with. If anyone is interested I could pick one up for them and ship it, or call the East Hartford, Connecticut store. The barrel has a 1 in 24" twist.

Those are kinda rare if you consider that its the only 1-24 twist production 54cal ML. They look really nice too IMO.

I bet that would shoot conical bullets real well. And probably sabot loads too.

It would be interesting to see how well it shoots a 54x50 325gr Barnes Expander. Those are fairly long for a 50cal bullet.

I bought one of these about four years ago and paid $399.99 then. As far as the $599. price tag, that is a big jump from what they sold them for years ago. Love mine:

I did find one in .50 cal. Both are made by InvestArms in Italy. My .50 cal has a 1 in 66 twist rate and shoots PRBs nicely. Here is the .50 cal:

I do love them both!!!

Sort of like the Lyman Deerstalker.

Actually they are made by the same company and very close to the same gun with two different names.

Yes, I know. The Cabelas Hawken is a Lyman Trade Rifle. I wonder why Cabelas never did anything with the GPR?

That's why I said sort of.
