Toby Bridges - EXPOSED!!!!
http://randywakeman.com/HowToBlowUpASavage10ML.htm
Please read this article and decide for yourself whether or not Toby Bridges of namlhunt.com is a trustworthy source of muzzleloading information! |
randy wakeman isn't trust worthy either so you're kinda comparing crap to crap?
|
Exactly It is the pot calling the kettle black.
|
Well at my age I've come to the conclusion that you believe none or what you hear (or read) and 1/2 of what you see! Of course I know you guys in here never ever lie. But I also know a few of you that won't let an opportunity pass to poke some fun at someone.
|
The whole thing makes me puke.
|
The whole thing makes me chuckle. The devil speaking of the devil speaking of the devil. At any rate it is funny to me, not sickening.
|
There has been an ongoing feud with these two for a long time. I will say that both of them have a lot of practical range, and in the field knowledge of muzzleloaders. Whether TB blew up the Savage rifle on purpose, or not.. you have to judge for yourself.
|
Shame on you guys. Both of those fine men are my heroes. They figured out how to make a darn good living spending their time playing with guns, spiced up with a liberal application of opinionated BS.
I never managed to do that even though I shoot a lot and have a pretty good supply of BS. Can't even figure out how to charge you guys ten cents each time you read one of my posts. Neither HNI nor PayPal seem interested in helping me out with that. They've even stopped taking my calls. The only person who pays me to shoot is my wife. Just last night she said "I'll give you fifty bucks if you'll just go to the lease for a few days". |
The sickening part is a lot of guys listen to these two clowns.
If Randy had his way. Nobody would ever buy a CVA gun. Nothing funny about either one of them. |

As for these two guys - I've never read much about or from either one of them so I can't say who is the worse of the two. |
It's like saying..what's worse? A tornado, or a hurricane?

Toby Bridges has always been a liar and always will be.
Randy Wakeman just loves to debate things right or wrong. |
That was one model that's not made anymore. CVA guns use Bergara barrels now. Show me one case of a Bergara barrrel blowing up?

Do you have any proof of that? I know he seems to have a strong distaste for TB and CVA, but let's face it, all you have to do is read www.cvaguncases.com for awhile and you'll be scared to death to every touch one regardless of what Randy says!
|
Wakeman and Bridges are Byronic heroes.:D

That may very well be true (I haven't taken the time yet to verify), but lawsuits are public record and the copies of over 50 lawsuits against CVA are on that site. So, with a little reading, it's easy to determine that CVA has had major barrel failure issues in the recent past. That's enough for me to pass right by every CVA I see on the gun rack, regardless of price! :poke:

I've been shooting muzzleloaders now for about 6 years and kill deer every year. Everything I've learned I've learned right here. I don't listen to guys on TV. As far as I'm concerned they are being paid by a company to pimp their products.
|
Going back to the original post at the start of the thread, I do find it disturbing. I have always enjoyed reading Toby's stuff. I have always had a love for Knight rifles in common with Toby...until he changed his tune recently. I did find it interesting how Toby would so quickly abandon his business relationships so quickly. Many will recall that he broke his relationship with his previous internet domain company so quickly that his former webiste was off the net overnight. I don't know the details, and don't really care to. After reading what Wakeman had to say, I do feel a little vindicated that the new Knight company is not bad or out to defraud the public. I still feel safe in planning to buy a Mountaineer some day. But...I really hate to see this whole thing happen. It doesn't do anyone any good.
|
The best thing is to promote what you like, without bashing others.
Randy can't do a review of any gun with bringing up how bad a CVA is. It gets old. |
i know folks who were on the range when a CVA bolt action muzzleloader blew up. That "case" is cited by Wakeman and his ambulance chaser bud. The gun was loaded with a large measured charge of smokeless powder.
|
I know nothing really about either of these guys. Sounds like a pi$$ing contest is going on. And though I am an engineer by trade, my particular discipline and work experience have given me no advantages in understanding internal ballistics. The external ballistics, I can barely handle hhese days !! What I do know is that I have used a Savage 10 ML and a CVA Optima Pro these past several years with excellent results at both the range and in the field. I figure following the info in the manufacturers' manuals, specs, etc. to the "T" is a good thing. Not doing so is a bad thing. Simple enough for me.
|
yea this coming from someone with 4 total posts... like who the freak are you...
|
He tried it on another forum and it was locked up ASAP.

another "new guy" huh.
If its so bad why not just give it to me? " I am batting my eye lashes at you" |
I killed many a deer with a Rem 700 30-06 I bought at Wal Mart. Should have got the oil changed while I was at it also.

Just cause they sell more doesn't make it a quality gun. Anybody can sell S!!t to a blind man and him think it's gold. Ask yourself would you buy a gun at a place were you get your groceries and have your oil change while your shopping. Not me! Know don't get me wrong I'm not bashing CVA. I have one and it's made a fine boat anchor.
|
A question for the guy who claims Wyatt Earp's mantra "Accuracy is everything". What muzzleloader manufacturer won the National Muzzleloader Manufacturers Competition for Accuracy six times?
|
Not blind. I'm just stating what I know and see. And just sold my boat an threw the anchor in as a freeby.
|
I believe that was knight right????
|
More than one way to be blind.

I don't claim anything. It's one of Earp's quotes. |
Also more than one way to be a sucker to.
