In case you think teflon tape doesn't work well on BP threads

just got back from the range with the MK-85. I learned about teflon tape on the forum many months ago and have been using it for some time.

The photos are poor quality, but you can get the general idea from them. The load today was 110 grains of T7 3f behind various saboted bullets. I like T7, but don't like the clean-up. As you can see, the threads are spotless. This makes the cleaning process MUCH EASIER! It probably saves me a good ten minutes of cleanup time.

I'm right there with you Dutch. It's all I use.

I have been using Teflon Tape on the BP since underclocked invented it and shared the information a long time ago. Once you figure out how to apply it and which color works best for your rifle... it is great...

I started with the white tape and it have worked fine. I wasn't aware of the pink type until I read about it here. No need to change at the moment.

One doesn't need to look for different color tape. If one has a rifle with a loose breech plug, one only need put more wraps of white tape on the plug, which is equivalent to a single wrap of heavier, more expensive, colored tape. Heck, for all i know, one may be able to purchase the white tape at walgreen's, or newberries, or safeway.

I have used it ever since I first read underclock's post about it, it has worked great for me, There are 4 common different colors i tried the all the only one I found any use for besides white is pink it works when you need a thinner tape for a very snug fitting BP.

I started out using it on nipples (that one is tough to do right) on sidelocks long ago. Most folks thought I was completely nutz. Turns out they were right but not for that reason. ;)

I use the white and my BP comes out clean.
