Lyman Conical mold question
What do you guys think of this for the 1:28 twist guns? Mainly my CVA's will run these.
340gr and they look to be a very nice bullet. I know i can buy the 370gr Maxiball mold and they'd shoot great but this 340gr lyman mold looks pretty darn sweet. Just hate to drop $55 + $30 on handles and not get any accuracy from it. http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.co...u=000152640139 |
Looks good. I think you should get it so I could send you 20 lbs. of pure soft lead which should give you about 400 bullets. Then you could send me 100 of them to try in the .50 Sinful Sister. :s2:

I'd jump at that deal Jon.

I dunno...
Good lookin' bullet for sure. In between a 320 REAL and 370 T/C Maxi...Might be a darn good shooter! BPS |
The only problem I see is it is .515. You will have to size the cr@p out of it to make it work. Even then sizing that far down will affect accuracy. I have sized bllets from .459 to .451 and they just don't do as well. Ron

You're right Ron. I didn't notice that .515 diameter. Way too big to size down.
I had the same experience sizing .459's down to .452. and the sizing screwed up the bullets too much even doing it in two steps. |
Where are you guys seeing .515 diameter? Is that what the first three numbers of the part number means?

yeah i too found out it was a .515" bullet when i went to midway. I ordered the 370gr tc maxiball mold instead after shooting some today. Semi if you want some of the maxiballs thats no problem.
