MK-85 Came in today

I am not sure why I bought this but at this point I think I am really glad... Got a great price on the auction and now that it is here I can not prove that it is not a NIB...

Nothing looks used.... the breech is spotless, even the tip of the ram rod is perfectly clean - no powdere smuge no stains... Even the box is in great shape...

Well you kind of needed another rifle. I mean I am sure your wife likes it. All kidding aside.. that looks like a dandy rifle.

Terry is at the New Dungeness Lighthouse up on the northwest coast of Washington, with her sister and friends... They are manning the lighthouse for a week...

I am hopping she will not even notice when she gets home...

When I bid on it I was thinking I would just resale it out in the Pac Northwest states and make a few dollars - now I am not sure what I am going to do with it...

Thats funny, I was watching and admiring that gun and wonder if I should give you a call on it. Good thing I didn't run up the bid on you. :D See what you've done to me.

I suspect there's a shooting session in its future. :s2: Nice score.

Just not sure yet - especially if it is a NIB - If I can prove that it isn't then I definitely would.

I got the gun for the purpose of it might have a looser bore than my current 85, it does not, so then the second driving force was to re-sale one of the 85's out here in the PacNorthwest as they a legal and sought after, and potentially valuable, ML for the 3 state area.

So right now - I do not know what I am going to do...

You could always use it in a trade for 1 of those 1-20 KNIGHTS.:patriot. Or is it a HAPPY BIRTHDAY present to yourself.:birthday:

Terry has impressed upon me... If one gun cometh one gun must goeth - helps to keep piece and harmony... Unless I can impress on her that this one those really super deals.. like the ones she shops for....

I'm a firm believer that you can never have too many mk-85's! Looks good SL, should be a tack driver.

You could always tell her you got it as an investment....and you'll be unloading it later

Agree, the mk is a much better gun all around than the bighorn, imo. Smart move! :happy0001:

My wife thougtht I was crazy when I bought my NIB MK-85 this winter. She just doesn't get it I guess. Actually that is okay because I don't understand more that 3 or 4 pairs of shoes in the closet!

Dutch 05-06-2012 09:18 AM

Actually I think I will take the MK-85 to the range right now! God Bless America that I can do this freely.
