I Finished My Home Made Range Rod
I bought a $3.00 solid aluminum dowel and made a range rod out of it for my .32 caliber rifle.
Here is a picture of the range rod. ![]() Here is a picture of the jag end. ![]() Here is the loading end. This is how the loading end of the original ram rod is. The picture is fuzzy but the end is cupped for loading round balls. ![]() It came out pretty good if I do say so myself. Here is the finished range rod. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Nice job. I love making my own goodies. Put an inch-and-a-half or two inch wood ball (craft shop) on the other end for a good grip. You'll like it.

That is really a nice job.

I use a wooden palm saver. I always carry one with me in the field anyway and I figure if I put a ball on one end It would omit the jag end of the rod.

Looks like it should do the trick. Nice job.

Nice job on the ramrod.

I kind of liked the feel of that piece of an old branch for a handle. It fit my in the curl of my knuckles well. But I thought this one looks a little better and gives a little more to hold on to.
