The Green Mountain Barrel Company I think recommends loads of no more then 110 grains of powder. But I have shot 120 grains of powder out of it with no problem. I have some 423 grain bullets I will shoot them with a magnum load and see if the scope will fail. But to be honest, I doubt it will have any effect on it. I am really liking that scope.

Dave - is the length of the scope too long or too short?

On this rifle the length is not an issue. It is too long for my liking but I can live with it. If this was being placed on a standard inline, you might have to pull the rear sight. And I do not like to remove the rear sight. So an 11 inch scope the sight can stay on. This one is 12.2 inches. But on the Renegade barrel you have to pull the rear sight to mount the scope base. So the length is not important.
