Gonna Be Building
I am most likely going to be building a Sitting Fox Muzzleloader kit this spring with a friend of mine. I am looking to building a poor boy, a kids rifle, or a Michigan half stock. It looks like a lot of fun, but intimidating at the same time.
Done anyone have any experience or suggestions for doing this? And I understand that some of you may suggest a Chambers or TotW kit, but for starters I am doing a Sitting Fox. Any good books that are essential? And tips or tricks with any of the work? I am looking to get at least the lock pre-inlet, so I am planning on this being a good beginners kit. Any chime-ins would be much appreciated! Thanks! DW42 |
Good luck with your project. I've built kit guns, but my kits were such that, basically a little sanding, blue the barrel, stain and seal the wood and your shooting. It sounds like a heck of a project. Should be interesting and a great rifle to boot.

After you get the feel for it build from scratch it is the most fun.
