Dave, every target you post with that white is a pretty target. As much as I prefer the sidelocks over the inlines I may just have to buy a white if I ever come across one.

Now you're talking Bronko. I want one of those White barrels in a sidelock. Or even better, an underhammer.

DAMMIT Cayugad! You keep posting those White targets and I keep saying "I don't need a White - I don't need a White". I guess I'll have to get some of those 460's and see if I can get one of my guns to shoot them. What's the twist rate on that gun?

Doc White did build traditional rifles with the White .504 barrels. They were made to shoot conicals. The one I was looking at had a nice steel egg lock, and beautiful wood. If I remember right the target sights on it were able to shoot out to 600 yards. That should keep someone busy.

Darn good shootin cayugad! :)

You need a White
I have had a whitetail G series .451 for years. I have taken moose and deer with one shot kills. I use the lyman .451 495 grain volunteer bullets that I hand cast. These are great and are cheap to shoot. I use 70 gr. of 3f black powder. I have a weaver 4 power scope with an open circle at the crosshairs. I have given some thought to converting to 209 primers.
I write a bp column so I have lots of in-lines and I think the white is the best all round in-line on the market. Good shootin! Nit Wit |

I use the lyman .451 495 grain volunteer bullets that I hand cast. I looked up that mold on the Lyman site. It sure looks like a nice bullet. But DANG, those molds are expensive. I'd hate to buy one then find the bullet won't shoot well for me. How about a deal? I can send you 20 pounds of pure soft lead in 1.5 lb. ingots if you send a few dozen of those bullets to me and a few dozen to Cayugad to try. If you're interested, shoot me a PM. ![]() |

I may be looking at the wrong mold. I picked that one because it said it was for the Volunteer rifles.
