A deer can literally grow an antler from any place on its head. What happens is that a little piece of the pedicle can break off when the antlers are just beginning to grow and embed itself somewhere on the deer head or face. An antler growing from an odd place, like this, usually results.
This buck may have been rubbing his head and a little granule of his pedicle rubbed off and stuck on his eye lid and the little antler resulted. Very cool buck. |
I my self would take it to a taxodermest and see what they could do with it. I have seen them mount a 10 year old rack for a guy with a new cape from a doe.
