Vortek Pistol

Whats everyone's opinion on Traditions/Vortek line of guns? I'm really eyeing the inline pistol. Especially the Real Tree one. For about 600 I can have the gun, scope mounts, and scope. I've always played with the idea of pistol hunting. I know I could buy a TC contender and get a muzzleloading barrel but that seems like way tooo much money. Whats Traditions warranty? Also it says that max load is 70 grains but loose 777 reduce by 15% so that is 60 grains. Is my math right by saying that with BH209 the max load is roughly 45 grains?

i almost bought one. im waiting for the new cva optima pistol to hit the local stores. theres some you-tube videos on it. looks like its a more robust 100 grain shooter and like 100$ cheaper than the traditions.

Well they are large, heavy, awkward and a good shooter, I have gone from that style to the Ruger revolver and am much happier that way. But if you intend to shoot long distance or hunt deer with it as a main gun that may be what you need.

Thanks liquidorange! Didn't even know cva made one. Not trying to bash traditions, but i would feel better with cva. And yes it will be for deer hunting. Already have one on order. Hurray!

i too would go with the Optima pistol. It has a max load of 100gr powder.

Busta's reports on the Optima pistol are very favorable overall.
