I would prefer heavier also but these should work. Just one question though....When does possible elk come in, and what do they look like?

They're not nearly as common as impossible elk.

Yep i have both the 250 and 320gr mold. I love these bullets to be honest. Its nice being able to cast something yourself and have it be accurate enough to hunt with.

I'll take the .440-.460 gr conical in a 1:28 twist any day for both accuracy and terminal performance!!i am with Ron on this the RB and real are just asking for a lost elk eventually! i used to hammer elk with a .54 .430 maxi.to each there own!:confused0024:

hey that 223gr .54 round ball did a great job on my cow that i shot a few years back. No complaints here. I figure that the 250 real will easily do the job.

My friend it's all good until you lose one, which is why more lead with elk size animals is better!with a 1:28 barrel. i would only use 75 gr of powder in my wolverine, behind a .460 conical with absolute devastation.marginal shot insurance supreme..

losing an animal can happen with a 7mm. All about shot placement.

Im not sure what powder charge i will push these with yet.

Whats there to listen to? I killed a great cow elk with 80gr pyrodex rs and a simple 223gr round ball LOL. Surely the 250 REAL conical will do an even better job. You don't need a 400gr conical, heck i may even end up using a 250gr if that new sidelock shoots them good.
