He tried FPB's, but nobody bought them. Except me, and when I bought them all he never restocked. He sells a lot of RB's.

He won't stock any sabots. Nobody will buy them. Unlike me. Nobody uses a ML in rifle season where a sabot could be used.

Anyway, my point was, here's a bunch of hunters using PB's and doing fine with them.

I mentioned in a thread on Jon's forum about a thread I was in on a CF forum. We were talking about the Nosler Partition. As far as i'm concerned it's one of the best bullets ever made. Wouldn't you know it. Some guy posts the bullet is junk, and he couldn't kill anything with one. That's forums for you.

See you are in an odd situation because you can't shoot bullets with sabots in your area, and like you said he can't stock Thors. So that doesn't leave him with very many options, and many people are forced to use Powerbelts and it doesn't matter if they like them not.

The majority of the country, you can use bullets with a sabot so it's a totally different situation.

Forced or not. They seem to be working for the hunters around here, and this is elk hunting country.

this is not an powerbelt debate. just an bullet listing thread.

Someone may get sold PB's the first year they bought them. How about the 2nd year? Too many are sold for it to be just first timers.

The answer is...............they kill game.

From my understanding, PB's are the Rage broadhead of muzzleloading.

They kill game, but whether or not you ever find that game with no blood trail is the chance you take. :s3:

TC maxi 370gr
TC shockwave 250gr
Hornady xtp 240gr
Those are the most bullets that my wife and I shoot.

I have had NOTHING but dead deer and complete passthroughs with the .430 240 grain xtp's. Like Breechplug, with his bullet of choice, I don't have any inclination to try to fix what is not broken.

I cant say weather its a quality control issue or what. We have taken several deer with the SW some with no issues & quite good performance but more & more the bullets are going thru without any sign of expantion at all with the deer traveling several hundred yards before expiring. Anyone else seeing these trends in your camp?

Exactly why I quit using them.

The Thompson Center Maxi Ball was not included in you list and I think it is a must in every muzzle loaders ammo box.
