Good Morning in the field...
 
The wind was blowing something fierce... but I had a freind and his father come calling this morning at 6am... We headed and at 8:40 Steve's son was done hunting...



You could kinda call it the young and old of it... I just keep telling the kid 'beginners luck'

Wow, and next to the road too!!. Didn't take long either! Can't get much better than that. The round steaks will be excellent from that cow.

very nice elk cow. Did he shoot that with a muzzleloaders or center fire? That should be some fine eating.

I was along as 'chief' herder' but I did take my Knight in case I came across a nice buck... but Andre was hunting on the dark side with a 06...

"did not take long" - ya you are right - right now Andre thinks hunting elk is a piece cake and wonders what the heck is the problem getting an elk... Wonderful to be young!

The elk ended up below the skid road in the creek bottom... But I was able to navigate a couple of tank traps at the two creek crossing get her out with 'Kawasaki power' to the parked trucks...

i'd have lifted her onto the front of the atv. Elk stink enough as it is without the mud LOL.
