Worth a few shots

I ran out of Wads for shooting the REALs and so i figured what the heck.... I took some Low drag sabots that dont shoot worth a darn and cut the pedals off and used the base as a wad for the REAL's. We'll see how that works out tomorrow at the 100 yard range.

Worth a few shots to see how it does, don't you think?

Interesting idea, good luck. Or you could shoot them out of a .54 cal. rifle with a .54/.50 sabot.

You made a Powerbelt.

nuh uh Colorado! These 250gr " actually they drop around 248.6 - 249.8 grains" and only lost 3 grains of weight when recovered LOL.

welp, time to go out and try it! Maybe next time i will use a tighter fitting sabot base and see if it does better.

Well that didn't work out! First 2 shots impacted in the dirt about a foot left of the target. Loaded my final shot without the sabot wad and boom, right under there where it should have been.

woohooo!!! The Optima did great with 70gr APP 3f, plastic wad and the 250 REAL! The crud ring however was horrible. I started off at 60 yards and got my sights adjusted and had my final 2 shots over lapping! Went back to 100 yards and took more more shot and was dead center but 4" low. I plan on trying this a lot more but with BH209 and Pyrodex RS later down the road.
