T/C Service

A few months ago I wrote about buying an Encore from this guy that had left the charge in for a year. One thing I also noticed was a broken locking bolt. No problem with the barrel as a local gunsmith said "hell mines in worse shape".. Clyde the owner of the shop calls me and says lets send it back to T/C they have lifetime warrenty(Im second owner). That was late Sept and barrel came back Nov 1st. NO complaints from me about the time because it was sent out minus breechplug and upon its return a nice new one. If I had sent it out in hopes of using opening day somewhere maybe I'd be upset with a month turn over, but that wasnt the case. Now comes the question.. do I flip it or add another Encore(this ones a 45cal) to the collection?

I say it depends on two things: 1. Can't you get a load that shoots good out of it? 2. Do you hunt anything bigger then deer? If you answered no to both questions, the 45 is plenty. Plenty of energy, lighter recoil, flatter trajectory. Who could want more.

it would be an exciting rifle to shoot and own. So I would keep it.

If it were me I would keep it and add another. I have a Pro Hunter now and if I found a second Encore that was affordable, especially a .45 (I really want a .45) I would get it.
I have two older (not G2) Contender frames and a few barrels. I used to have 3 but I traded the third off for something else. I still wish I had the third one back. Unless you don't like the Encore system it seems like they're handy to have a couple of around. |
