White .504 wads/cards

I am anxious to shoot my White .504 and want to use a wad or card.
I understand an appropriate card size would be .125 x .510, but the problem is, TOTW is at least 30 days back ordered.
Can anyone recommend an alternate source for cards or recommend a wad size that would be a suitable substitute?

TIA

If you have a 1/2 or 9/16th hollow hole punch and a cardboard milk carton you can stamp your own out of the milk carton.

You can use 10-20 grains of corn meal instead of a wad.

You can punch wads out of 100% wool felt used to insulate around windows and doors.

Telephone a guy named Mike Eder in Indiana. Just ask for the 1/8th inch 50 caliber felt wads. (lubed or unlubed) $3.75 for 100 packaged. The company is Flintlock Inc. I always get the unlubed. Since they are felt they will not burn and I see no need to contaminate the powder charge with a lubed wad.

His phone number is 317-933-3441 (last I knew he was still in business)

Last option... shoot that White without a wad. They still shoot great.

If I were you, I would not let not having the wads keep me from shooting that White of yours. In my opinion the wads are most necessary if shooting triple 7 or pretty hot loads of another powder. If you are using black powder or pyrodex and using 70 to 80 grains I don't think you will get a lot of leading without the wads if the conicals are properly lubed.
Just my thoughts, I have shot a lot without the wads and haven't had problems with it. I have also used cornmeal like Dave mentioned.

I have a few thousand of them... PM me an address and I will send you a handful

I only use them because I am using T7-3f powder and that is a really hot powder it will tend to melt the botton of the lead bullet and string lead up the bore. If you are using another sub this might not be a problem. + I prefer the wad also as an to isolate the bullet lube from the powder.

Yup, he is still in business. There has been a slight price increase and they are on order.

Thanks you Sir.

Thanks for your generous offer. Mr Elder had them on hand and would be getting them right out so I should be ok. Btw, they are being shipped and I'll pay after I get them. Amazing.
I was wanting the wads for the reasons you mention but I would have gone without if I had too. ;)

With T7 do thing the felt washer will provide enough insulation against the heat on the bottom of the bullet. I guess I thought the heat would still transfer through felt??

Just asking cause i don't know...

Might try looking at Balistic Products web site, may find a wad there. Some shooters just use corn meal. I prefer gas checks.

I have never used wads in my white rifle. Im shooting 100grs of pyro P with a 370gr TC maxi. Is is advisable to use a wad in mine? I have never had a problem with accuracy.
