Dove Tail
 

I asked this question in the scopes and sights section and got no response. Is the dove tail groove a standard size on all rifles. I want to replace the Buck Horn sight on my CVA Bobcat with a regular type sight.

Measure it with a caliper some are standard 3/8. Sight makers list by gun. Brownel"s teck people can tell you what to get the sell all kinds for most guns. Brownells.com

Yes most are standard. When looking down the barrel you take it out from left to right. Then install the opposite way, from right to left. The cut should be slightly tapered. Tom.

Most are the std. 3/8" but not all. Also, some manf use a different angle on their dovetails.

That's a foreign made gun it may have a metric dove tail, Best put a good set of calipers on it.
