Can anyone spare some 300gr Deep Curls (.452)?
I had enough for the hunting season, but unexpectedly had to rezero my gun on Saturday, leaving only 3 left. I just found out that my local store is out of stock, and it appears that all the usual suspects online are out of stock as well. Season starts Saturday!
If you can spare 10 bullets and don't mind mailing them, please shoot me a PM and name your (reasonable) price. THANKS!! :fighting0007: |
Hornadys kill as well... :)

nchawkeye - why would I want to have to go back and work up a load for the Hornadys, and then rezero my gun?
Mike - thanks. Going to the PMs now! |

Mike is now the official alternate when Midsouth is out of whatever you need! :D
Thanks Mike. |
I know its been said before but: Sabotloader is one of several regulars here that is always willing to help a fellow shooter.
|
How many you got left now?
Just kidding. (unless you have some Thors) |
It was a joke 7.62, some on here think the Gold Dots are the Holy Grail... :)
Besides, with the same powder charge, you might need a little scope adjustment or a tad less or more powder, shouldn't be a big thing...It typically takes me less than an hour to work up loads for most rifles... Good Luck... |
If you need anymore, i have extra's also!!!
|
NATO - I've never used the deep curls. But I shoot 300 gr Hornady XTPs and Sierra flat points interchangably in my rifles and see no difference in POI. I don't suspect you wouldn't have either. Maybe at the end of season give the Hornady's a try. Then you will always have a back up in case you run out again.
And you know, although most of us are willing to help out a friend in need, you should receive a friendly kick in the butt for letting your supply slip so low! |
I have an extra box also. But it sounds like you have it covered. Tom.
|
Did you get these? If not shoot me a pm. I'm also in VA although I'm not sure where you are. I don't have a bunch of extras, but I ordered 2 boxes a month ago and after zeroing my gun and a friends I've got about 75 left. If you need a few, I'm sure we could work something out, but if you don't need them any longer, I don't want to get rid of them as I'm sure I will shoot them up too.

I was going to offer some too, but looks like SL took care of you.
As for the XTP and DC, in my X7 the XTP shoot 6in lower then the DC with the same powder charge. Both 300gr and .452 in a crush rib sabot. |
Wow, thanks to everyone for all the willingness to help with some extra booooolits. I’ll take all the squabbling this board has to offer, ‘cause you can’t touch support like this!
Yes, Sabotloader (Mike) has me taken care of. Mike – the check is in the mail! Bronko – I had no reason to think I would run out of bullets. I had established my load and zeroed my gun with about 20 bullets to spare—plenty for a hunting season. But, long story short, my barrel and recoil lugs became loose after I was zeroed, and I used a combination of Loctite and JB Weld to make sure that never happens again. I didn’t feel comfortable hunting without re-checking zero, and when I went to the range, I was about 6” high and right. Thanks to the amazing (SUCKY!!) adjustment mechanisms on my Leupold Ultimate Slam, it took 17 shots to get back to zero. It is an excellent suggestion to find a load with an alternate (and more common) bullet that will still hit close to zero. I will do that after the season. I think a lot of you live in an area where you can just go shooting at a moment’s notice. For me, it takes a lot of time and effort to go to the (public) range, and it is only open from 9:00 - 4:30 (I work during those hours). And because my scope’s adjustment mechanisms suck, there’s no such thing as making a few quick clicks to find zero. |
