pissed off I snapped a screw

I stoped at a gun store and got a black diamond stainless ml w/bass rings and a beat up weaver scope (no sights) 11 nipple...for 40 or 50 bucks(i thought I put fifly on the counter but he asked you need change so he gave me 10 back...maybe I put 60 down)....i'm thinking the parts alone are worth it...I took the gun apart and shot some wd40 down the barrel and I tried to take the breech plug out ...i should have knew better than to use the ramrod thing in the vice to stop it from turning:rant::mad1: stupid I snapped the screw that holds the ramrod holder on.....breechplug is soaking still.....some times its the little things that drive me crazy:happy0157:

i hate when stuff like that happens! You think so far a head that you over look the simple things and snap!

No kidding. Like punching a punch pin the wrong way and wondering why it won't come out. Wanted to punch myself last night for being such an idiot. Now my barrel and recoil lugs are loose and I bent the shaft of the action. I was zeroed, but will have to go back to the range to check zero after I get everything back in order. It's the stupid mistakes that are the most costly.

it never seems to fail, that things happen the worse when you don't wan them too.

There's one good thing about being old.

You forget all the mistakes you made.

sqezer 10-28-2011 03:58 PM

Muley, if your that OLD how do you even know you made any mistakes.

Muley Hunter 10-28-2011 04:30 PM

yea... I broke of a bent extentended jag in my TC Omega's ramrod. I had all my stuff laid out on the grass at my sisters house and the ramrod must have got stepped on or something. I tried bending it back instead of just trying to unscrew it. SNAP.....DUH. At least yours was an accident. I should have just known better. Luckily, it was in the end for the T-handle. And I can still get the T-handle on if I need to... have enough thread available.
