What to cover end of barrel with when it rains
Like the title said????
Tape, finger from latex glove platic bag????? Weather has turned into rain/sleet and have plans to put seaks in the freezer this weekend, just want to be protected from the wet stuff. |
Saran wrap and a rubber band. Anything heavier seems to affect accuracy.

I like thumb cots get them from an office supply. [Thumb sized rubbers to use for handling papers.] They are just right for a normal sporting barrel and do not affect accuracy.

I never have, even with my .54 caliber flintlock...
Water doesn't run up hill, keep the muzzle turned down... |
I use muzzle cots (I believe they're called) from Traditions.
|
Any CVS or Walgreens pharmacy will have them. Called either finger cots or finger protectors. You get 30 of them for around five bucks. Or get them from Amazon in the bulk package - 144/box for about $8, and you should be good for the next 20 years.

Gimpy, I just realized that since I switched to open sights this year, the finger cot will not work - covers up the front sight. I have used electrical tape in the past. Never took a shot, but was always a little concerned that the thick tape would throw off the point of impact. Have you notices any change in accuracy?
