Thats it, the cap smacker is coming out!!!!

Been trying to do alot of bowhunting lately and was saving my mz tags for the end of next month. The problem i have been having is the deer have seemed to disappeared from the draws i have been bowhunting. I have been getting pictures of good bucks but only late at night, so i believe tomarrow i am going to take the gpr out of the cabinet and still hunt the 2- mile long draw and see which draws they are using to get to their feeding areas and see what happens.:eek2:

Still hunting with a GPR. How can you not have fun? A kill is a bonus.

Yeah the gpr is still a virgin so we might as well get that out of the way before prom comes if you know what i mean.

Are you sure you are legal right now, hunting with your muzzle loader?

sdhunter11 10-25-2011 07:21 AM

yep, standing rock tribal tag, resident nonmember, started october 22. Thank you for checking though ron. I wish i did draw a state muzzleloader tag but was denied, it was my first year putting in for it though.

Well, i went out yesterday evening and got a 78yrd shot at a doe, tipped her right over. I walked up to her and she was still alive. I hit here right at the top of the shoulder and must have grazed her spine. She started to crawl a little bit while i was reloading to finish her off and all of a sudden she was able to barely get to her feet and make it about 80 yrds into a plum thicket. I finished reloading and went down there to retrieve her and she was nowwhere to be found. It got dark on me pretty fast and i stumbled around that creek bottom for about an hour looking for her but didnt have any luck. I have been just sick about the whole deal and havent even been able to sleep. I took the morning off work and am going to go look for her again at sunrise in a few hours. I dont think she could have went far the way she was stumbling and falling around. I think my the problem is the creek bottom she is in is to brushy to be looking for her under a flash light.
