SST & SW sabots

Got a package of each in trade from a member on another forum after he had accuracy issues with them.

I got a package of the 50cal 250gr SST with low drag sabots and a package of the 250gr SW with the yellow super glide sabots.

Do i even bother with these sabots in my CVA Optima or just swap them out with the red or black crush ribs?

I am going to load one of each into the barrel just to see how they fit. Maybe shoot tomorrow if i get my trucks timing chain on early. SOB shows that i have to drop the oil pan to get the new gasket on

they shoot good out of my Staghorn Magnum, but CVA barrels are not the same.

If that optima is tight barreled. a crushed rib will be in order lol.

This Optima runs a .501 bore.

The red sabots are friggin easy as heck to load. Im not to sure about those sabots. The yellows on the other hand load with a good touch more in pressure department but still pretty easy loading.

Tried a black crush rib and wooop! Like a greased up booger LOL.

Going to take some 110gr BH209 loads out after the truck is back to running and then see how these bullets do. Also going to try the red crush ribs for the smokeless guns as they tend to load a good bit tighter than the black crush ribs.

Geezzzz, dude there cheap lol.. do you need some more?

Builder, i'll order some this winter when i can sit down and shoot.

I tried both the SST with red low drag sabot, horrible group. Switched to the SW with yellow sabot and a big improvement. I threw my 3rd shot so i plan on taking a few more with the yellow sabots and see how they do. The yellows are a mother to load.

Crush rib sabots are up next.

MD, for some reason, some guns just don't like a particular brand of sabots. Some don't like MMP others don't like Harvester. I'm sure it's in the chemical makup of the plastic. Temperature, humidity, elevation ect seem to play a factor as well.

I can't get MMP sabots to shoot well in anything.
