I also make mine, and I make the ladder section angled toward the tree as opposed to vertical. The angle makes it easier to climb.

+1 I angle them as well... the next time I am out, i will take a pic...

They are comfy and i like them just so i can relax and take the shot i want. Not the shot im motivated to take because im cold and the weather is nasty.

Complete with heater, couch from a mini van and "urination station".....oh plus a cooler with lunch and refreshments.

Now we are talking about tree stands, not tree cabins... yes, i am jealous!!!

The grandkids use it mostly for paintball and the rest of the folks just use it to watch the wildlife. We built it so everyone could use it for whatever they wanted.

We did go overboard but most of the lumber was free and we had to make it relatively safe for the younger ones too. We had a "crows nest" another 6ft above the main stand but it was a bit dangerous so we took it down.
