Lovely - Just what we need!

Here in PA, yesterday was the first day of archery season. Got soaked sitting in the stand. Weatherman called for showers, it started at 6:00 when I left the house. A very slight drizzle which just picked up intensity. Funny, I always thought showers only lasted a couple minutes? Well guess what? Its 10:05 this morning (Sunday) and its STILL SHOWERING....grrrrrrrr:rant:. Maybe I'll break out the camp stove and cast some .530 RBs....hmmm now there's a plan.
I wanted to take the .45 and .54 out today and shoot a couple offhand targets but it looks like that is on hold. Wife left for FL at 5:00 this morning to help the daughter with the twins so can't "do anything" there. I guess I'll just have to rough it and watch NFL football and the Outdoor Channel all day. (poor me...)
I've never seen such a wet year in all my life. Wish we could redirect some of this rain to Texas where they really need it.

That low pressure was over Wisconsin last week and all it did was rain here. And over cast. What a bummer. Couldn't work on wood, so I built shelves in the garage and cleaned the garage.. found things I thought I'd lost years ago. But it was sunny yesterday and today is beautiful. Did three wagon loads of wood and called it a day. I'm debating whether to shoot rifle or watch football. Maybe I need to put a TV in the garage... :s13:

I wouldn't do that Dave. You're liable to be paying too much attention to the game and cut your trigger finger off. And we couldn't have that happen.

Cuttin firewood, shooting blackpowder and watching sports... life's good!

Hope things improve. High pressure forecasted, here, for the next week... hope to get out in the stand myself.

Well, being the optimist that I am, I used the day to get my things packed up for my Texas hunt later this month and casted a couple hundred .530" balls and some .45 cal Maxiballs. Now I think I'll watch some football.

Our weekend was beautiful at the hunting lease this weekend. Big high pressures system moved in Friday. Saturday and Sunday mornings were 58 degrees without a cloud to be seen. Got up to the mid-70's in the afternoon. I checked a food plot that I planted last weekend and the wheat/oat/clover mix has a good start. But I need some rain in the next 7 - 10 days and the forecast doesn't look good.

Semi, I'd be more than happy to send you a couple days of rain if it was in my power. I woke up this morning at 5:00 and it was 43*. We got a dusting of snow upstate about 60 miles from here. Wife picked a good day to head back down to see the twins in FL.

Pretty dreary day also here in Morgantown, WV. I did watch two does and two fawns about 15 yards out my back window. The rain didn't seem to bother them at all.

I was hoping to get to take my X-Bow out a do a little hunting with it this year. But I am having too much trouble with my hip and leg. Hopefully my leg will let me do a little MZ hunting in Nov. and Dec.?? Not sure yet. Our early seson was last week(MZ), but my leg kept me down all week. So no meat for the freezer yet??

Oh well, at least I can get out on the front porch and shoot my new flint lock a little bit when it clears up this week.

Good luck to you in bow season. Tom.

Woohoo! the rain finally stopped. I will finally be going out this afternoon. Temps have dropped into the 40s so I won't have to worry about the skeeters too much down in the wet area where my one stand is.
