Front sight?

Well, since I am done deer hunting, I am back to tweeking my gun again. I have a Williams Peep sight on my muzzle loader, and a Williams FireSight .445" on the front.

I am shooting 100 grains of Goex 2f, with a Hornady 250 XTP, Harvester Crush Rib Sabot, and a Win 209 Shotshell primer out of my Traditions pursuit.

This load is chronographed at 1702 FPS, but I am still hitting about 2" low at 100 yards with my rear sight adjusted to max height.

I am curious if anyone knows of a LOWER front sight that I can put on this gun to get the rear sight closer to the middle, and give me a litte leeway when working with other loads.

I would like to try some .400/200 or 180 grain bullet combos, and also see where I am with my 385 Grain Hornady Great Plains. I even want to mess with some 300 grain .452's, but I am hitting low already.

I have considered putting a shotgun bead on the front, but I am afraid it will be too low.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Marcial

Williams makes Fire Sights all the way down to .250, so getting a shorter front sight should not be a problem.

Call Williams Sight Company on their 800 and dial in extension 228, that will get you to Steve - explain you problem to him and I can tell which site height you migh need to accomplish your goal.

Thanks for that information. I had not seen those lower sights. I will have to check it out.
