Has anyone shot the TC SureFire 230gr hollowpoints?

I was wondering if anyone has shot the Thompson Center Sure Fire 230gr jacketed hollowpoints with the black Mag Express sabots? I have a TC Omega .50 and wondered if they would be hard to load? Also are the Mag Express sabots the same as the regular black sabots? I am hunting strictly in the woods and not the fields, so my max range will only be about 50yrds. I use to use the SuperGlide ShockWaves with good results, but I am on an extremely tight budget this season... thanks for any info.

I was given 11 of them to try by someone. I shot them out of my Knight Disc. They were very accurate. That is about all I can tell you about them.

They worked very well in my System One which was a 1-38 twist. Have taken several deer using 110 gr RS.

You will find them a bit tight if your omega is like mine

Thanks guys.....

chetmarks - yea... I figured maybe they would be but wasn't totally sure. I think I may still try them out... Price is very good on these. I am accustomed to swabbing between shots and/or shooting from a clean barrel anyways so I'll probably be ok with them. Since my hunting ranges will be so close I figured I could go with something a little less expensive, (yet maintain some quality)... and get good patterns. Was just curious of what others experiences were with these. Thanks!

I don't know if this has any use, but when I was first thinking of using them. I did an my one and only expansion test.

left sure fire right cheap shot, shot with my knight usak, 50yrds with 85grs (yes I like that load), pyrodex rs. wet sand in an plastic bucket.

I don't know if this helps anything

BH46755,
My Accura Ver. 1 loves theses things! They are one of the cheapest bullet/sabot on the market. At the end of a season, I wait for Wally World to close them out at $4 a pack of twenty. Using either Pyro or 777, this bullet just loves to knock down deer. I'm certain there may be better bullets out there, but success is something I do not argue with!
