Got The Word

I received an E-Mail yesterday from the place that is building my new 50 caliber. They shipped it in a UPS truck, and it went out yesterday. So hopefully I will have it this Friday. Kind of unfortunate because I did not receive it in time for the early season(which is this week). But I have not been able to hunt this week, so not such a major loss.

I am looking forward to handling my new rifle. I wil post pictures as soon as I get it. I have been waiting about 8 months for this rifle, and I am really looking forward to getting it. Tom.

The rifle is an Early Lancaster style rifle. It is a left hand FL with a large Siler lock(Chambers), and double set triggers. The barrel is a Rice swamped barrel. I purchased a special piece of high grade Maple. And I decided on 50 caliber over 54 caliber. The trimmings are in brass, but with no patch box. I think those patch boxes are a bit gawdy(just an opinion).

I like the wider and taller butt stock on the Early Lancaster style stock. and I also like the fact that there is no crescent in the butt plate. It really is a shooters rifle, not so much a looker, but a shooter!! But I still think it is also going to be a looker(I hope)!!

Should be a really nice rifle. I have been wanting a custom flinter for over 30 years. So it is on the way. Tom.
