Default bronko/sabotloader- GM barrels ?

The GM barrels are something I will probably look at, would be great to turn one into a RB rifle and the other conical or sabots- anyone have a good resource to price the barrels and typically what is the turn around Do they drop right in in place of the normal barrel

Brknarrow - do a google search for Green Mountain Barrels. Their barrels normally run about $225 each but sometimes they run a sale and you can get one for $100. For your Renegade you will need to order the 1" replacement barrel. And yes you can switch calibers. But remember, the smaller diameter you get the heavier the barrel will be. I believe you can get the 1" 36 cal up to 54 or 58 (or maybe even bigger).
For round balls you definately want a 1:70 twist but for conicals, go with the 1:28 if you can find one. Or, if you want, for less money (about $150, you can have your factory barrel sent out and have it rebored and sleeved for any caliber/twist you want. I can give you the name and number of the guy who does this if you're interested.

Yes, I have 45, 50,54 but others are also available as well as different twist rates depending on what you want to shoot

Any of GM's one-inch replacement barrels will drop into the Renegade, regardless of caliber.

I had to trim about 1/8" off the rear of the under rib on every one I got before they would dorp into the stock. But that was the only mod needed and quite easily done.

The .54 1:70 twist is an excellent round ball barrel. For a LRH sabot shooting barrel I would go with a .50 first. But you really need a .45 too. Talk about a sweet shooting barrel with 180 and 200 grain XTPs and Deep Curls, with hardly any recoil.

Excellent Builder. It was a badly pitted .45 cal that a friend gave me for a flintlock stock I had laying around. I have Mr. Rober Hoyt from Fairfield, PA bore it out and sleeve it to .50 cal and put in a 1:28 twist rifling.
