Well Chet, SD is a long way from PA. If I came that far, I'd have to do a combo deer and pheasant hunt.
Maybe we can set something like that up.

Yup that can be arranged. We ought to take a few of the annual 1million plus pheasant harvest. :s2:

I used to go to Hagerstown MD to hunt pheasants religiously every year. As the number of birds seemed to dwindle, so did the trips, until the trips stopped all together. That was about 20 years ago and I really miss the excitement of a rooster flushing at my feet. Wings beating and bird cackling, and me just standing there in startling amazement until sometimes I was too late on the draw to get off an effective shot. We would hunt in a line of 5 or so people, with no dog to flush the birds from the field. So the birds would sometimes hold tight until you almost stepped on them. Now you've gone and brought back a whole lot of fond memories. I sure do miss those times. And the delicious pheasant dinners.

Same here in Indiana about the only way to get a Pheasant nowadays is to go to a put and take... I haven't had a Pheasant since 1981:sad0064:

I think that if he drove there he would almost have to pass right by me. I'll just stick out my thumb as he passes by. Maybe he will pick me up.
