I always take the lock off my side locks and clean them with a tooth brush and the cleaner I use for the bore, after I shoot them. Then I rinse them with boiling hot water and set them for a few seconds in a hot pan on the stove to dry completely. Then oil them up and put them back on the rifle.

Have you messed with that trigger set screw yet? That thing will work wonders for your trigger if you don't know it already. I have actually taken mine all the way out and have lost it somewhere. I've been meaning to have Thompson Center send me a new one just to have it. I wouldn't use it anyway. I just hate to be without it. So if you take your's all the way out to get the lightest pull possible, put it where you'll remember where it is. It's very tiny.
By the way, if you didn't know, it's the screw that's between the two triggers.

Striper, get yourself some new flints. Try Mr. Rich Pierce ( [email protected] ). Great guy. Get the 5/8"x3/4" flints. Now, when you put a new flint in, set your hammer on 1/2 c0ck, close the frizzen, and adjust your flint so it is about 1/16" off the face of the frizzen. Tighten down the jaws. I find an allen wrench of just the right size to fit in the hole of the jaw bolt is handy. Just don't get over zealous, you can snap the bolt. Also, see if you can purchase a couple RMC vent liners or pick a new one up at Walmart. And put some antisieze on the threads before you install it.
