Muzzleloader slings

How dod you guys carry your smokepoles, seen a few slip on slings and not sure if there worth the investment, I generally travel 1/4 to a 1/2 mile to certain stand sites so any recommendations would be great

I dont use a sling on my sidelocks because I do a lot of still hunting and a sling is just in the way.

I think the key would be to have one that is part of your thimble so the top strap doesn't slip. Most I've seen just loop around the barrel and grip.

Maybe this will help.

On all of my Renegades and Hawkins I use the the sling stud set That replaces the Ramrod thimble and uses the stud screw in the butt stock.

I use a contour claw.

I don't use one when hunting but I do keep this sling in my backpack for when I'm draggin' deer out of the woods.

Picked up one of these yesterday (not a good photo of it). Just slips on. Even has 4 shell holders that fit the Lanes tubes perfect.
