a mornings walk

Woke up this morning before daylight and couldnt go back to sleep, so I thought I would run up to my hunting spot and go for a walk. The temp really cooled down last night to 61 degrees. I got through the first pasture and was easing through the second when I saw a deer, I sat down on a down tree to watch when more deer starting coming into view. All and all there were 8 and all bucks. One eight point with about a 16 inch spread, two 8's about 14 inches and then 5 smaller bucks. The three eight points and one smaller buck had lost there velvet already. I finally back out of there before I got busted and walked back to my food plots, they are starting to come up, but could use a drink before long. Saw 5 does standing in the food plot. Not a bad mornings walk.

no, not a bad walk at all! You need to take a camera next time for us.

What a great way to spend a few hours. If I saw eight bucks together in my area I would check my pipe tobacco for hallucinogenic drugs.

that would be a morning walk to remember.

I love to see game when I walk. All but bear that is, they still give me the jitters. We had frost warnings again, but it did not happen so it was really wet this morning from dew, when I took my walk through the woods. Never saw a thing. But did hear two grouse flush. Never saw them though. I can't figure why the grouse would be so on edge already, they have not been pushed, and I have no dog anymore. Although I got my eye on a English Pointer pup.

Nice, and even nicer that you weren't busted.
